Read the storify. TED curator, Chris Anderson and June Cohen, Executive Producer of TED Media revealed the vision that drives TED, plans for expansion in the future, and the variety of ways TED is working with foundations to meet shared objectives. Founded nearly three decades ago as a conference forum for spreading ideas, TED has since evolved and grown into an organization with worldwide media reach and ongoing initiatives in translation, education, science, and the environment. The TED model mixing live events and media has been adapted by communities around the globe as a platform for gathering ideas, sharing local expertise, and sparking change and advancement in both the developed and the developing worlds.
